Shaarei Orah, the Sephardic Congregation of Teaneck is a warm and welcoming congregation that promotes the practice and love of Sephardic tradition. We are a community of an extraordinary range of Sephardic backgrounds with Yemenites and Ashkenazim as well. We have successfully created a harmonious community that unites in Rav Ovadia Yosef’s “Minhag Yerushalayim.” Our Kehilla highlights a broad range of guest speakers including Sephardic Chief Rabbi Hacham Shlomo Amar. Shaarei Orah is a relaxed community that is careful in observance and while creating a space where every Jew feels comfortable. We strive as a community to grow spiritually especially in regards to Tefilla and the study of Torah.
Our spiritual Leader Rabbi Chaim Jachter, is a prominent rabbi on the Rabbinical Council of America (RCA). Rabbi Jachter is a teacher at Torah Academy of Bergen County (TABC), where he chairs the Tanach Department and is the Director of Alumni Relations, Limudei Kodesh. Rabbi Jachter has a weekly Torah Publication and has written many Seforim, most known for Gray Matter. Rabbi Jachter is a leading expert in Gittin and Eruvim.
Our Kehilla is located in the center of greater Teaneck, one of the most dynamic Orthodox communities outside Eretz Yisrael.
We invite you to join us for an uplifting experience that includes beautiful chazanut, drashot with powerful messages, warm embrace, and a memorable Shabbat. We look forward to meeting you soon and welcoming you to the family of Shaarei Orah.
