Highland Park and Edison offer the best of what a large and small Jewish community have to offer. An achdus that one would ordinarily only find in a small community is palpable in our well-established community of over 1,500 Shomer Shabbos families. We are a community where people greet each other with a smile, and friendships span across shuls, schools, and age groups. Our community membership values a low-key, laid-back way of life that emphasizes middos over materialism. We invite you to come and spend a Shabbos exploring our unique and heartwarming community to see for yourself what makes Highland Park and Edison special.
When it comes to Jewish amenities, we have them all – our community boasts 9 different shuls, including a Sephardic shul and a span of 20 different minyanim to choose from. We have 3 Elementary Yeshiva Day Schools, including Rabbi Pesach Raymon Yeshiva (RPRY), Netivot Montessori, and Yeshiva Shaarei Tzion. Additionally, there are several kosher restaurants, an eruv, mikvaot, a kosher supermarket, and crucial organizations like Bikur Cholim, Hatzolah, Chaveirim, and Tomchei Shabbos.
Located in central New Jersey, our community is 45 minutes from virtually anywhere in New Jersey. Come and go by train or bus, you can easily get to either downtown Manhattan or Midtown Manhattan in an hour’s time. We are a 30-minute drive from Newark International Airport, which makes it simple and easy to get to just about anywhere!
The abundance of parks, state-of-the-art libraries, and proximity to many museums and resources make Highland Park/Edison a wonderful place to raise a family. And with the RWJ Barnabas Medical Center, St. Peters Hospital, and JFK Medical Center minutes away we have found that there are plenty of employment opportunities in the medical field as well as with pharmaceutical companies, accounting firms, and other large, medium, and small businesses within twenty miles of our communities.
As you can see, there is a place for everyone here. Visit Highland Park and Edison and you will never want to leave!
