About This Community

Springfield/Longmeadow boasts the beauty of New England with peaceful and affordable residential areas and all the amenities one would expect from a small city and suburb--all within a couple of hours from friends and family in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut or Boston area.

Our community is host to a Modern Orthodox synagogue, a Chabad, youth groups (including NCSY/Emtza) and an active JCC. Springfield/Longmeadow has a PreK-8 school and a PreK-12 school nearby, with one of the most generous subsidies for all students and additional scholarships for eligible students.

Springfield/Longmeadow, well known home to the Springfield Museums, Basketball Hall of Fame, MGM Springfield, and Dr. Seuss Museum, also boasts being in close proximity to Tanglewood, live entertainment and theaters, beautiful parks, cultural activities, shopping, skiing and amusements.

Our community is well-known as an outstanding area for STEM. Additionally, there are employment opportunities in medicine, insurance, finance, education. Fifteen colleges and universities are within a half hour drive; Mass Mutual Life, Peter Pan Bus Lines, and Baystate Health are among the many large employers headquartered in our community.

Ample and varied housing is available within walking distance of our shuls, including beautiful Victorians and senior and assisted living residences--starting at $300K--much more affordable than equivalents in New York or Boston.

Our community is diverse, with warmth and inviting inclusiveness and acceptance, where hashkafic and religious differences do not keep people apart. We are small enough that everyone knows and cares about each other.
